Earlier this evening, Madi and Daddy were having a drink of water and relaxing together. Daddy, who was enjoying the intimate moment told Madi how much he loved her. He said, "My favorite day was the first time I got to hold you when we adopted you." Madi replied, "My favorite day was the day that you adopted me." Of course, Daddy was all choked up then, and now.

A conversation with Daddy

So touching, and brings back to mind that first night when Lisa and I had Madi sitting in the middle of the bed in the hotel room in her diaper massaging her shoulders, arms, legs and toes when I kissed her in the small of the back (every baby’s sweet spot) and she let out two healthy chuckles. A few days later the attending American pediatrician asked the adoptive parents if any of them had gotten a smile from their new little ones yet. Only a smile? If he had only heard Madi that first night.
